BRAW Studio Legacy Versions for Old Support (previous macOS and Adobe)

You could need to download old versions of BRAW Studio for various reasons. We are going to list important versions here and for which situations you could need it.

Why you might need our Legacy versions of BRAW Studio
BRAW Studio is our Blackmagic RAW importer / color grader / panel suite for Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder and After Effects. It is based on the official SDK provided by Blackmagic Design. BMD regularly update their requirements by dropping off old versions of macOS, so we are also forced to follow and drop old unsupported versions of macOS. We also sometimes drop support for old Adobe video software (CC 2017, 2018), making some updates impossible to use on system that can't update their software.
As a temporary workaround, we provide you in this page old versions of BRAW Studio so you can install them while you finish your projects working with Blackmagic RAW (.BRAW) footage. The best solution would be of course to update your software after your current project is finished.
Why you should really avoid using those Legacy Versions
It is important you understand you should not rely on those versions for too much time. We only bring you them here so you can finish your projects safely. Any bug you encounter in those versions can only be solved in latest updates of BRAW Studio, which you won't be able to properly use. You can already review BRAW Studio Official Changelog in our Download page to see what are the bugs fixed since the version you are currently using. Most of these bugs will happen to you, so be aware of them ! Let's take an example to illustrate how to read the changelog : in version 2.7.7 (22 September 2022), we wrote "End of Support for :"
- Premiere Pro and Media Encoder CC 2017 and CC 2018
- Merged Clips on Premiere Pro CC 2019
- Layer Settings on After Effects and Windows : old graphics cards for CUDA Acceleration (all nVidia GeForce GT / GTX 6XX and 7XX, except GTX 780 and GT 730)
So you will need to use the previous version 2.7.6 (27 June 2022) if you're using either an old GPU, merged clips on CC 2019 or simply if you want to continue using Adobe CC 2017 and 2018.
The only bugs you won't encounter are the ones where our Changelog states something like "in recent versions" : it means they were introduced recently (in the meantime between two versions after your version) and might not impact your version, but regressions like this are rare. Most of the bugs will happen to you at some point in your work. Best solution is to update your software or computer when you can ! Others softwares than BMD or Autokroma plugins won't be available for your current setup, so usually upgrading solve a lot of issues for you in general.
As a side note, BMD sometimes bumps up the macOS minimal version requirement without enforcing a strict rule forbidding to use the SDK in an old version, which means it might work or it might not, Blackmagic Design did not test them and won't fix any bug happening in those old versions in the future. It also means you could in theory test a more recent version and see if it works for you. This is risky and we don't recommend going that way !
Download and install Legacy versions
v2.3.0 and v2.5.3 for macOS 10.13 High Sierra
Version 2.4.0 (28 March 2021) is only for macOS 10.14+ (Mojave) because of BRAW SDK v2.0, so you will need to install v2.3.0 (18 March 2021) :
That is following the official information given by BMD. From quick tests we made it seems you might be able to use version 2.5.3 (01 October 2021) of BRAW Studio
v2.4.3 for macOS 10.14 Mojave
Official requirements from BMD indicate that Mojave is unsupported for BRAW SDK 2.1, implemented in BRAW Studio Version 2.5.0 (05 July 2021). So you should use BRAW Studio v2.4.3 (21 June 2021) :
v2.6.3 for macOS 10.15 Catalina
Official requirements from BMD indicate that Catalina is unsupported for BRAW SDK 2.3, implemented in BRAW Studio Version 2.7.0 (16 February 2022). So you should use BRAW Studio v2.6.3 (29 November 2021) :
v2.7.6 for Adobe CC 2018 and 2017
Because of important bugs inside Adobe Premiere Pro 2017 and 2018, we had to bump up the requirements to use the latest official update of Adobe CC 2019 in BRAW Studio Version 2.7.7 (22 September 2022), so you will need to use Version 2.7.6 (27 June 2022)
v2.7.11 for BRAW Studio V2 users who don't want to upgrade to new V3
BRAW Studio Version 2 is not updated anymore since Version 3. It will not work on Adobe products more recent than 2023 versions.
What if I don't have a V2 license ?
Do not buy a BRAW Studio V3 Premium license !
BRAW Studio V3 license are not retro-compatible with BRAW Studio V2. We strongly encourage you to see if you can update your system to use latest BRAW Studio V3 with all latest bugs fixes.In case you really can't solve your current problem without using old legacy versions of BRAW Studio V2 and you don't have a V2 license, you can purchase a BRAW Studio V2 license from this store. Please note it won't give you access to BRAW Studio V3 and that we won't be able to fix any bugs that are from V2, as explained in our previous "Why you should really avoid using those Legacy Versions" section.
